Just Another Day in Alamosa
Albert M Kahan digital photographer On August 6, 1945, two memorable events occurred; the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima and I was born. I was raised in New York City,
got a B.S. in Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Ph.D.
in Physics from Cornell University. I worked for DuPont doing research
on the design and manufacture of photographic films of the type used by
the printing industry to make printing plates. I am now retired and
living in Alamosa, CO where I am the volunteer treasurer of the Alamosa Live Music Association.
I have been taking photographic slides of my travel all over the
world since 1980. Many will eventually be scanned. In 2005, I bought
my first digital camera. Most of my current work is based on the
digital photos.
My goal is to produce images which please me and, I hope, others.
Sometimes, this means little adjustment to the image as in much of my
landscape photography. Sometimes, this means the original image is
just a starting point for a lot of adjustments with realism taking a
back seat to how the images look to me.
